Journal Policies
Publication ethics
Editors, reviewers and authors each have ethical duties. Authors ensure originality, avoid multiple or concurrent publication and acknowledge their sources. Editors decide on academic merit alone, and reviewers keep manuscripts confidential and declare conflicts of interest.
Open access
All articles are free to read, download and share under the CC BY 4.0 licence. Authors keep the copyright.
Peer review
IAE uses double-blind peer review. Each manuscript is first screened by the editors, then reviewed by two to three independent experts for originality, rigour, clarity and significance.
Plagiarism
Submissions are checked with similarity-detection software. A similarity below 15% (excluding references) is acceptable, 15–25% is borderline and may need revision, and above 25% leads to rejection. Plagiarism may also lead to a ban, notice to the author's institution and retraction.
Copyright
Authors keep their intellectual property rights, may reuse their work and may deposit or share it in repositories.
Data sharing
Authors are encouraged to deposit the data behind their results in public repositories and to include a data availability statement.
Corrections and retractions
The journal publishes errata, corrigenda, retractions and expressions of concern when needed.
Fees
There are no article processing charges. An optional Fast Track Review, which includes line editing, costs 300 USD.
